For Vote @ Oct meeting: Amendent #1: Legislative Liaison: Proposing the creation of a new Board position
The Legislative liaison will be a member of the LD 20 executive board They shall establish secure lines of communication with each representative and the senator. They will work with the chair on the agenda for the monthly meeting so there is a rotation of speakers about the events in the legislature. They will request posting of reports and newsletters from the representatives and senator on the LD 20 website.
Their second responsibility is to be a resource for concerns brought by the public. First to determine which agency handles the type of concern that is brought forth and give the contact information for that agency. If it is a concern that can be addressed by the legislature this information will be given to the legislators.
For Vote @ Oct meeting: Amendment #2 Changes to Recording Secretary and Corresponding Secretary Responsibilities (proposed by Kay Davis, as amended by Keith Garner, amendment accepted by Kay Davis):
B. Duties of Officers
The Recording Secretary shall keep a written record ("minutes") of all meetings of the Committee and of all meetings of the Executive Board. The Recording Secretary shall also keep a record of attendance at all meetings of the Committee and of the Executive Board. The Recording Secretary shall be responsible for the determination of a quorum at all meetings where a vote is to be held. The Recording Secretary shall perform the Membership Records Duties whenever they have been assigned to the Recording Secretary under Section 6.
5. Corresponding Secretary
The Corresponding Secretary shall be responsible for notifying members concerning LD20 and Democratic Party events and, with the approval of the LD20 Chair, communicating on behalf of LD20 with County and State Democratic Party officials and committees. The Corresponding Secretary shall perform the Membership Records Duties unless they have been assigned to the Recording Secretary under Section 6.
6. Assignment of Membership Records Duties
(a) The following duties (the "Membership Records Duties") shall rest with the Corresponding Secretary unless assigned to the Recording Secretary under this section:
(1) maintaining contact information for all LD20 members; and
(2) causing a current roll of Committee members to be kept.
(b) The Membership Records Duties may be transferred from one Secretary to the other, and transferred back again, by the written agreement of both Secretaries with the approval of the Chair. Each transfer shall be recorded in the minutes of the meeting at which it is approved.
(c) A transfer takes effect on the date stated in the approval, or, if none is stated, immediately upon approval. The Secretary transferring the duties shall deliver all membership contact records and the current roll to the other Secretary within 14 days of the effective date.
(d) If either office is vacant, the Membership Records Duties shall be held by the Secretary who holds office until the vacancy is filled, unless the Executive Board directs otherwise.
(e) Regardless of which Secretary holds the Membership Records Duties, both Secretaries shall have access to the member contact information and the current roll as needed to carry out their other duties, including notifying members of events and determining a quorum.

Amendment #3: Proposed bylaw amendment: Affirmative elections of State Committee members.
Summary:
1) All nominees for state committee must receive at least 40% of affirmative votes at LD reorg meeting to be elected.
2) Remaining vacancies may be filled per standard procedure established by ADP state committee. The LD committee may require these appointees to be picked from a pool of nominees via vote.

US Military Budget

Whereas social services, medical care, education and food assistance are being cut;
Whereas Donald Trump does not unilaterally run the country and the U.S. does not - and should not - rule the world;
Therefore, we demand that our representatives at all levels of government vote against increasing the military budget and put those funds toward helping people in the U.S. instead of killing people abroad.
Project Blue Data Center
Passed July 21, 2025, unanimous
LD20 does not support Project Blue and we hope that Pima County Democratic Party (PCDP) does not support it either.
Support for a Ceasefire in Gaza
Passed November 20, 2023, 27 in support, 3 opposed, 6 abstain
LD20 calls for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and calls on Pima County Democrats and Arizona Democrats to do the same.
